Chills

There are a few things that give me the chills. Sometimes good things and sometimes bad things. One of the worst things for me are spiders. I have a large fear of spiders and when I see one they always give me chills. Another thing is nails being scratched down a chalkboard. It’s one of the worst sounds and it just makes you cringe and gives you chills like crazy. One of the better things is like a championship game for instance. If a baseball game is tied, with two outs, and a full count on the batter, and a base hit will win the game. It makes me get chills and become nervous all at the same time. When someone is an extremely good singer or just really good at something it can have the same effect.

Halloween

Halloween is one of my favorite times of the year, besides Christmas of course. Halloween is a time for everyone to dress up in a scary costume, for most, and be whoever they want to be. I have a twin, so I remember one year being double mint gum. That was always a funny one! I love all the decorations, candy, costumes, and my favorite, haunted houses. I hate being scared, and I dread going in once I am, but I love haunted houses and the scared feeling. Some people don’t even recognize the holiday and just ignore it completely. However, I think if you think of it the right way, it’s just a fun holiday to dress up, have fun, and over stuff yourself with huge amounts of candy you will regret later.

Strength

Most often when we hear the word strength, we usually refer to how much someone can squat or bench press. In most cases this is true, but it also has an alternate meaning. The 400 meter dash is one of the most difficult races in track. It’s not long distance or short distance, it’s one hard lap of pure sprinting. I had the experience of running this race in my high school years. This race takes not only physical strength, but also mental strength. Yes, it’s nice to be fit and have physical strength, but mental strength is what finishes the race for you. Just when your about to gut it out to the finish line and you think you can’t go anymore, that’s when the mental strength comes in. If you don’t prepare yourself for the finish and don’t have any faith In yourself, it’s hard to finish anything. When doing anything, mainly sports in my case, it’s important to have physical strength, but also mental strength when the tough times arise.

Elmore City

I’m from a very small town that goes by the name of Elmore City that I’ve had the privilege to grow up in. We have a population of about 700 and basically everyone knows everyone. Everyone in Elmore is so nice and willing to help with anything. Graduating last year, I grew up with almost my whole class and known them my whole life. Sports is a big deal in our town. The whole town is so supportive and love to watch us play. We are one of the only purple schools around our district and the same with our mascot, a Badger. I graduated with 30 people and our high school consists of about 150 people. Most people prefer bigger schools, but not me. I like knowing everybody, and everybody knowing me. I loved growing up in a small, close-knit town, and that’s where I will want me kids to grow up someday.

Privacy

Privacy is something we don’t have much of anymore. Social media and technology Is a large factor In this. Posting on sites such as Facebook and Twitter can show your location, where you posted from, and even at what time. Sometimes you can even control your page and put it as private, but that still doesn’t protect everything. No matter how careful we are, we will lose control of our privacy. Most of the time we don’t think about it, but we we go to restaurants, stores, public places, even driving or walking out on the streets, we are most likely being watched. Between the crime rate and society today, calls for extreme security and includes being watched everywhere you go. The place we feel safest most of the time is home. One place we know we can relax and feel relieved. No matter how hard we try to keep our lives private, it’s likely someone is always watching.

Best Friend

What is a best friend? Someone who is always there for you? Someone you can trust? Someone you can do everything with? Honestly it’s extremely hard to find all these qualities and more in someone these days. If your lucky, you can find someone like this who will always be there throughout high school, college, and even our adult years. I consider myself having a lot of “friends”, but a best friend is a strong term. If I was to label a best friend of mine I would pick my boyfriend. I can honestly say we have been best friends ever since we were born and have always been around one another. We know everything about each other and I trust him more than anyone. Sadly, once people come to college, most of their “best friends” from high school will soon be forgotten.

Sacrifice

There’s a lot I would be willing to sacrifice when it comes to my family. As a matter of fact, I would give up anything for my family including myself. They are one of the most important things in my life and I don’t think I cold live without them. When it comes to the world though, I don’t think I would be able to sacrifice as much. Yes, there would be a lot I would be willing to give up, but not even close as much as I sold for my family. I think when someone sacrifices something for someone, it’s showing how much you care and love that person. I think, in the right circumstances, we should all be willing to sacrifice something for someone. Not always something huge either. Sometimes the little things mean the most.
